Sex Offender Registry Search
This search will reveal felony and misdemeanor sexual crimes located at the state level (state registries). Each person convicted of a sexual crime must register as a sexual offender each time they change residence pursuant to Megan’s Law. Information that will be reported in a sex offender “hit” will include the offenders name, physical characteristics (height, weight, age scars and tattoos), convicted offense, and last known address.
State laws have specific restrictions on sex offender searches, for example the state of California states:
“A person may use the information disclosed on the Attorney General's Website only to protect a person at risk. It is a crime to use the information disclosed on the Attorney General's Internet website to commit a misdemeanor or felony.
Unless the information is used to protect a person at risk, it is also PROHIBITED to use any information that is disclosed pursuant to this internet website for a purpose relating to health insurance, insurance, loans, credit, employment, education, scholarships, fellowships, housing, accommodations, or benefits, privileges, or services provided by any business.”
